This is our first On-Line Intarsia Tip, as time permits we'll be adding more periodically.

 

                                    

Another way to display your intarsia fish projects is 

to make a base so you can stand it on a shelf or table.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I cut the pictured base out of 1" thick poplar, beveling the edges 20 degrees. Cut a 1" x 1" x 1-3/4" block out of the scrap wood and bore a 1/4" dia. hole about 3/4" deep in the center of it, also bore a hole in the base. Screw the block to the back of the fish, cut a length of 1/4" dowel rod to hold the fish on the base.

 

 

 

By only using one screw in the block,

you can change the pose of your fish.
